Customer Engineer - Italy

  • Remote

Equixly is a VC-backed cybersecurity startup founded to revolutionise API security by leveraging proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms. Our platform automates the API Security Testing process, enabling companies to identify deep vulnerabilities on APIs – today’s most exposed attack surface – in a scalable and timely manner.

As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for a Customer Engineer to join our team and drive post-sales success. This role will focus on customer adoption, technical enablement, value realization, and long-term retention. The Customer Engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring customers fully integrate and maximize the value of the Equixly platform within their ecosystem.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the post-sales technical relationship with customers, acting as their primary technical point of contact.
  • Drive onboarding activities, including technical setup, integration support, and configuration guidance.
  • Ensure successful platform adoption by aligning Equixly’s capabilities with the customer’s architecture and security objectives.
  • Support customers in integrating the platform into complex IT environments (on-premise, cloud, hybrid).
  • Monitor platform usage, outcomes, and value realisation, proactively identifying optimisation opportunities.
  • Deliver technical training, workshops, and enablement sessions to customer teams.
  • Provide ongoing technical support in collaboration with Product and Software Engineering teams.
  • Identify expansion opportunities based on customer needs and usage patterns, partnering closely with the Sales team.
  • Collect structured customer feedback to contribute to product improvements and roadmap discussions.
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge base development.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong, hands-on experience in Application Security (AppSec), with a deep understanding of modern application threat models and secure SDLC practices.
  • Proven experience working with security teams on topics such as SAST, DAST, SCA, API Security, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Deep understanding of API architectures (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), authentication and authorisation standards (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT), and common API vulnerabilities (OWASP API Security Top 10).
  • Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to engage in highly technical discussions with AppSec engineers, security architects and security managers.
  • Previous experience in a post-sales technical role (Customer Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer) within a cybersecurity or developer-focused SaaS company.
  • Experience as a Penetration Tester, Application Security Consultant, or Offensive Security Specialist is considered a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience performing application or API security assessments is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical skills in identifying root causes of vulnerabilities and guiding remediation strategies.
  • Ability to translate complex security findings into business-relevant insights and actionable remediation plans.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional fluency in English (written and spoken).

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and stimulating work environment within an innovative cybersecurity startup.
  • Real growth opportunities and direct impact: you will join a fast-evolving team with cross-functional visibility and ownership.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, plus company benefits.
